I found these patterns on a very large flat rock slab en route to An Teallach's Loch Toll an Lochain. On this rock stands a large shoulder height boulder which, when moved, will rock back and forth on the rock slab. It was a beautiful day and it seemed an ideal place to sit and enjoy the views while eating my lunch. Later, while packing up to continue my trek, I noticed the patterns in the rock - they reminded me of contours on an ordnance survey map. Or perhaps it could be compared to a photograph of some alien planet taken from an orbiting spacecraft.
