My wife and I travelled out from Skye to the St Kilda archipelago to spend several hours exploring the main island, Hirta, including a walk up to the highest point on the island, Connachair. On leaving Hirta we explored the entire archipelago by boat, sailing to the various other islands in the group, and in this shot, taken just as we left the archipelago heading back to Skye, can be seen almost every island in the group.
At left is the massive bulk of Boreray, next is Stac Lee, the two dark small rocks in front of Stac Lee are unnamed on the 1:25000 maps I have and at the far right is part of Stac Armin. On the horizon is the main island of Hirta and to its right is Soay. What this picture does not really capture is the vast sky above filled with constant noise of sea birds, thousands of them wheeling round overhead. This day will live long in our memory, especially as our first two attempts were defeated by impossible sea conditions!
