Many years ago this sign once stood by the roadside on the western shore of Loch Ewe just before entering the village of Midtown. For years I was intrigued by this sign, a unique set of directions set by the roadside and long wondered who had made it. I've always assumed this roadside sign was created by a member of the Free Church of Scotland which traditionally has been the dominant church in the Scottish West Highlands. A more detailed story concerning this sign is available at https://www.gordon-c-harrison.co.uk/Blog/Roadside-Directions
