I passed through this scene in the morning en route to Loch an Nid but at that time the lighting had been very flat. Later in the afternoon when I returned to Loch a' Bhraoin the sun, to my right and now lower in the sky, was providing strong side lighting and emphasising the contours of the land. This view was taken from the lower slopes of Creag Rainich and not far from the Loch a' Bhraoin bothy. The bothy can be seen nestled into the land just behind the white estate house. The mountain which dominates this scene is A' Chailleach which, translated from Scottish Gaelic, means 'The Nun' according to Professor W J Watson's excellent book 'Place Names of Ross and Cromarty'.
